One of the star ailurophiles of Clowder’s  Creative Cats title, Musical Cats, is Maurice Ravel, whom we have celebrated before as he is a total cat/creator fit.  Aloof, enigmatic, fastidious and fluent in cat, his preferred circle of intimacy was a clowder of Siamese cats.  They clustered around his keyboard and strongly influences his work, especially the famous Cat Duet  from his one-act opera L’Enfant et les Sortilèges (1925 The Child and the Magic Spells).
