Today is the birthday of Maurice Ravel, top French composer and noted ailurophile  He’d be 150,  that’s around 35 in cat years. He has featured in a previous post, but 150 is a big birthday so we are fêting him all over again.

 Ravel is one of the 28 musicians celebrated in Musical Cats, part of the Creative Cats series from Clowder Press.  In fact,  he is quite the star, as  he had a passion for cats, especially   Siamese. He was totally owned by a positive clowder of seven. They used to hang around his piano,  giving helpful notes. 

Roger wonders whether Ravel should join the Clowder list of Humans  who may Secretly Be Cats.  It’s a good fit. Anyone who can  speak fluent cat, and sign  off his letters in a very catly manner  - ‘I lick your nose ’ - must surely qualify. And his one-act opera L’Enfant et les Sortilèges (The Child and the Magic Spells), features a cat duet - Duo Miaule. Listen to it here, preferably with your cat/s, who will love it.
