Insight: from Roger:  Palmerston obviously landed this Sinecure with Benefits by Being More Cat.

Since then, he has been living in rural serenity with Andrew Murdoch, an FO colleague.  Earlier this month, Mr Murdoch was appointed Governor of Bermuda, and guess what? Palmerston will be joining him in an advisory capacity, becoming the first ever accredited  Feline Diplomat. 

According to the FO,  Palmerston will  ‘attend only the meetings he deems important, offering advice when necessary and indulging in well-earned naps’. 

Jammy, eh? But then Palmerston is a tuxie, and you know how smart they are.
